My kids are very active and get bored easy. In our house boredom means trouble, fighting, and mischief. I try my hardest to get the kids out of the house often. Taking the kids out is a great opportunity to teach social skills and tolerance. When out and about we meet all kinds of different personalities.

8. Fast food play structures- most fast foods offer healthy snacks for $1 or less.
9. Local attraction passes. Passes will allow your family to visit without paying each visit. Our local aquarium is one of our favorite places to visit. For our family of 5 the yearly pass was $50!
10. Trip to Costco is always a fun event for my family.
11. Visit a local farm. Most farmers are eager to share their knowledge.
12. Go for a hike
13. National Park free day. Throughout the year national parks have days that you and your family can enter for free.
14. Visit a public museum. Most public museums are free, donation, or have one day a month that is free.
15. Visit your local humane society. Volunteer to walk a dog.
16. Visit a nursing home.
17. Get a group together to take a tour of your local fire station or police department.
18. Take a load to a recycling center and sort together.
19. Visit a pet store.
20. Home Depot free kids workshop.
21. Lowes free Build and grow.
22. Check to see if you mall has an indoor play area.
23. Barnes and Noble offers a free story time.
24. Kids fishing pond
25. Check your local factories, often they will offer a behind the scenes tour.
